Inspiration and the Important Role of Women According to Martin Anugrah

June 10, 2021

Everyone has their own views on inspiring women, including the actor and YouTuber who is part of the Cameo Project, Martin Anugrah.

Martin said that based on what he knew from the Raoul Wallenberg Institute (RWI), an organization concerned with human rights education and humanitarian law from Sweden, it was revealed that women and girls are vulnerable to the effects of climate change. This is because often the needs of women and girls are not fully included or taken into consideration by the male-dominated decision-making group. As a result of this gender inequality, women’s control over resources and decisions related to the impacts of climate change are limited.

According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the important contributions of women as decision makers, stakeholders, educators, caregivers and experts across sectors and all levels can lead to successful long-term solutions to climate change. The reason is because women have been shown to lead the way towards more equitable and sustainable solutions to climate change.

According to Martin, the strongest inspiring women in his life are his mother, grandmother, aunt, and wife. It makes him believe that women have unique knowledge and contributions that can make climate change strategies more effective and sustainable if they are included in the decision-making process.

On the other hand, the involvement of women is very necessary to be part of the solution. Where RWI highlights perspectives on climate change that many people may not be aware of. Complete information regarding RWI and its various projects can be found on its website and social media.
